We live in an over perscribed society.
There is nothing new about this of course.
Only now it's not only a topic of discussion
or article - it's costing more lives than before.
Because nothing has changed - people can
go to a doctor,a " pain clinic " or a dealer -
or even the internet - and get just about any
perscription they want and or need.
I think there are effective medications that
help many.But something has to change to
stop those who don't benefit from them - !

I live in an overly prescribed state, we have the highest rate per capita of overdose deaths due to prescription pill abuse. It's very sad and tragic and I agree that we do need to do something about it, sadly no one seems to listen. :-(
yes- so true
There are pills for just about everything and most doctors are happy to prescribe them. Too much medication and mixing of them is not a good idea. But there is no true "happy" pill.
